The Sanibel Sailors had to overcome a fine effort from Kissimmee pitcher Sean Rivas to win, 7-5, at Bright House Field. Rivas went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Postiga Sánchez, the winner, improved to 3-2. He held the Kumquats to 3 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 1. Leif Drinnon recorded the save, his 4th.

Sanibel used a timely hit from Yulien Portelles to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sailors ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"I feel like a little kid every time I put the uniform on," said Portelles.

The first-place Sailors have a one-game lead in their division.
