The Scranton Dundies picked up a win at Victory Field, knocking off the Syracuse Chiefs, 4-1. Starting pitcher Emmanuel Cummings was a big reason why. Cummings picked up the win for Scranton, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Cooper Maloney earned the save, his 2nd.

Elroy Cornett, the 30-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cornett contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Scranton up, 2-0.

"Emmanuel was throwing free and easy," said Scranton manager Dustin Bartholomew.

The Dundies, now 2-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
