The Columbus Clippers beat the Syracuse Chiefs, 5-3. Columbus pitcher and Cambridge, Canada, native Cam Watson led the way. Joham Dosal earned save number 1. The victory makes Columbus 2-3.
Tommy Holligan hit a run-scoring triple off Sherman Cooper in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Clippers in front, 4-3. Holligan had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 3.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Clippers manager Scott Manning. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
