Red Sox Stick Dundies with 3-1 Loss
|
Pawtucket pitcher Rob Kauffman did his part in helping his team beat the Scranton Dundies, 3-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 6.2 innings, Kauffman surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Steven Minckler got credit for the save for Pawtucket. It was his 3rd of the year.
The Pawtucket win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Jeremy Fountain. In the bottom of the third, the Pawtucket left fielder came to bat and hit a 2-run single. It staked his team to a 2-0 lead.
"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Scranton manager Dustin Bartholomew. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
With the win, Pawtucket is 5-6.
