Wizards Rack Up 3-1 Win Versus Syracuse
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Orlando Wizards and Syracuse Chiefs.
The Orlando Wizards got a magnificent effort from pitcher Malcolm Beverly, who kept Syracuse hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Wizards win at Orlando Grounds. Orlando reliever Malcolm Beverly got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Justice Johnson was tagged with the loss.
Orlando went in front, 3-1, on Pascal Tovar's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Tovar hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Syracuse pitcher Ben Moratay visibly perturbed.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Beverly.
The win gives Orlando a record of 9-6.
