Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Wilkes-Barre Barons and Buffalo Bisons.

The Wilkes-Barre Barons topped the Buffalo Bisons, 5-3, in International League action at Coca-Cola Park. The standout performance belonged to Wilkes-Barre pitcher and Beaumont, Texas, native Jacob Tomerlin. Tomerlin got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 5.1 innings. Tomerlin allowed no runs. Ralph Rollins closed it out for his 2nd save.

The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the third inning, but Tomerlin was able to pitch out of a jam. With the bases loaded and Buffalo trailing 2-0, Tomerlin retired Gaudencio Tabares, who struck out.
