Clippers Snag 5-2 Win
|
The Columbus Clippers topped the Gwinnett Stripers, 5-2, in International League action at Coolray Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Columbus pitcher Jim Kirchhoff. The winner was Neville Raab in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Theo Barrera took the loss. The Stripers, now 6-14, continue their slow start.
In the top of the ninth, Columbus first baseman Ron Hicks hit a run-scoring single to left field. The clutch hit made it, 3-2, Clippers.
Kirchhoff told a Columbus Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
