Loss to Oddballs Extends Louisville Losing Streak
|
Behind the bravura of shortstop Huey Davis, the Ottawa Oddballs topped the Louisville Bats by the score of 6-4. Davis was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk for the Oddballs. Leobardo Vásquez earned the win to go to 4-1. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with no walks and 9 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. Doyle Craig closed the door for Ottawa, picking up his 5th save of the year.
Kennan Lynch, who is tied for 8th in the IL in home runs with 5, took Louisville hurler Romeo Kimble deep in the bottom of the seventh. His 2-run home run put the Oddballs on top, 5-4. In all, Lynch had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I like our mindset right now," said Ottawa manager Lincoln Anthony.
Ottawa is now 15-9.
