Tides Beat Barons, 3-0
|
Raley Field was the site for International League action featuring the Birmingham Barons and Norfolk Tides.
Norfolk picked up a win at Raley Field, bumping off the Birmingham Barons, 3-0. Pitcher Manny Ricardo was a major reason the Tides emerged victorious. The defeat makes Birmingham 14-12.
Norfolk used the timely hitting of Dedric Rodman to capture the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Tides on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Manny was Manny," said Tides manager Jay Duren. "He gave it all he's got."
