Barons Suffer 5-3 Loss to Durham
|
The Durham Bulls picked up a win at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, knocking off the Wilkes-Barre Barons, 5-3. Starting pitcher Leland Stotts was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Stotts, now 2-2. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. Lucas Williams picked up the save, his 7th.
The Bulls got a big at-bat from shortstop Dakota Haviland. For the game, Haviland was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Durham a 2-1 lead.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Haviland said. "That's why you play the game."
The Barons fall to 11-16 and continue their rocky start to the 2057 season.
