Bulls Get Close Win Over Chiefs, 7-6
Wesley Cromwell did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Syracuse Chiefs from losing, 7-6, to the Durham Bulls at Victory Field. Cromwell went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winner in relief was Lyle Gibbs. He is now 1-0. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. Syracuse is 11-15 after the loss.

Durham used the timely hitting of Vic Berumen to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bulls on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Berumen said after the game.
