Chiefs Stay Hot With 2-1 Win
|
Huntington Park featured a tense pitchers' duel.
The Syracuse Chiefs got a magnificent effort from pitcher Ralph Tisdell, who kept Columbus hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Chiefs win at Huntington Park. The winning pitcher was Tisdell, now 2-1. He tossed 5 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Marcall Monico closed the door for Syracuse, picking up his 8th save of the year.
B.J. Ho, who is rated as the 6th best prospect by BNN, had a direct impact on the outcome. Ho contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Syracuse up, 2-0.
"This team's hitting on all cylinders," said Chiefs manager Abe Blowers.
The 'W' lifts Syracuse's record to 19-12.
