Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Wilkes-Barre Barons and Ottawa Oddballs.
Ottawa wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Jack Benally, falling to the Wilkes-Barre Barons, 4-0. Benally threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Wilkes-Barre reliever Benjamin Hunt picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jack Benally was tagged with the loss.
Wilkes-Barre used the clutch hitting of Landon House to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Barons ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
House attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
Wilkes-Barre is now 21-10.
