Chiefs Win, 7-3, Versus Oddballs
|
The Ottawa Oddballs and Syracuse Chiefs riveted fans at Victory Field.
Syracuse third baseman Elías Espinosa helped his team beat the Ottawa Oddballs, 7-3. Espinosa, who is tied for 9th in the IL in bases on balls with 16, went 3 for 4 for the Chiefs. The triumph puts Syracuse at 18-18 for the season.
Nathan Ocanas drove in 2 runs for Syracuse. The 34-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Ben Williams. It was his 19th RBI of the season.
"Win or lose," Espinosa reflected afterward, "baseball is a beautiful game."
