The Gwinnett Stripers racked up a win at Coolray Field, bumping off the Buffalo Bisons, 2-1. Jack Rigg, who started for Gwinnett, pitched effectively for his team. Gwinnett reliever Joe Wilkinson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Braxton Valentine was saddled with the loss. The Stripers, now 29-11, know that wins in June count the same as wins in September.

Gwinnett got a knockout punch from Tony Napoli. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Rigg.
