Red Sox Win by Slim Margin, 2-1
|
The Pawtucket Red Sox got a magnificent effort from pitcher Owen Holiday, who kept Birmingham hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Red Sox win at McCoy Stadium. With the win, Pawtucket upped its record to 20-18.
Jeffry Patlan was the walk-off hero for Pawtucket. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Red Sox designated hitter hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Holiday said.
