Columbus Rallies for 5-3 Win
|
The Columbus Clippers had to overcome a fine effort from Gwinnett pitcher Christopher DePauw to win, 5-3, at Coolray Field. DePauw went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The Clippers now have a record of 25-19 with the win over Gwinnett.
Marshall Schaefer delivered a big hit for Columbus. The catcher drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Clippers ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"Big team win," Schaefer said later.
