Wizards Spill Dundies, 6-1
|
Behind the hitting of Leon Szalay, the Orlando Wizards stopped the Scranton Dundies, 6-1. Szalay threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the Wizards. The second-place Wizards lifted their record to 23-18.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Amos Medved? The Orlando shortstop had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Wizards on top, 2-0. For the game, Medved had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Medved. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
