Knights Back to .500 With Win Over Chiefs
The Charlotte Knights bumped off the Syracuse Chiefs, 9-3, at Hustlers Stadium. Todd Boynton hit 2 singles and 1 double. He also had 2 runs batted in. Charlotte reliever Emerson Castillo was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Jean Carlos Serrano took the loss. The Knights raised their record to 23-23.

The Chiefs had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Knights going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old second baseman Travon Renard came to the plate. Renard hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 changeup from Syracuse hurler Aiden Rioux. It was Renard's 6th double of the year.

"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Knights manager Zhu Yu.
