Slumping Oddballs Lose 6th Straight
|
The Louisville Bats topped the Ottawa Oddballs, 4-2, in International League action at Ottawa Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Louisville pitcher and La Victoria, Venezuela, native Daniel Cesaro. Rudi Tharp collected save number 5. The Bats move to 21-25 with the win, while the Oddballs drop to 21-25.
Louisville needed the clutch hitting of Hidenori Takahashi to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bats on top, 2-1. For the game, Takahashi had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Takahashi. "And vice-versa."
