Clippers Down Red Sox, 4-2
|
The Columbus Clippers and Pawtucket Red Sox completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The Columbus Clippers topped the Pawtucket Red Sox, 4-2, in International League action at McCoy Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Columbus center fielder Breki Hannibalsson. Earning his 1st save for Columbus was Frank Marx.
Hannibalsson had a game-changing home run in the top of the 12th. On a first pitch fastball from C.J. Castle, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Clippers a 4-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Hannibalsson.
"Games like this one keep the antacid makers in business," quipped Pawtucket manager Daniel Holcombe.
After today's action, Columbus sits at 22-23, while Pawtucket falls to 21-24.
