Oddballs Win, 8-2, at Syracuse
|
The Ottawa Oddballs beat the Syracuse Chiefs, 8-2, at Victory Field. Sebastian Reber, in particular, was impressive. He went 4-5 with 4 singles. Israel Cantwell, now 7-3, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Stan Harris locked down his 3rd save.
Judah Weller, the 25-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Weller contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Ottawa up, 1-0.
"We're our own worst enemy right now," said Syracuse skipper Aaron Calderon.
The Oddballs, at 36-16, sit in first place in the International League Northeast Division.
