Slumping Bears Lose 6th Straight
The Buffalo Bisons beat the Newark Bears, 5-4, at Valiants Ballpark. The win was due in part to left fielder Thornton Langston, who was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. Jason Haas earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record is now 3-1. The losses continue to mount for Newark, which has now dropped 6 in a row.

Langston had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-2 changeup from Lance Craig, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Bisons a 5-4 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Langston.

Buffalo manager Rich Hernandez praised his team's "energy."
