The Toledo Mud Hens overcame a fine performance by Durham first baseman Aydan Mettler to defeat the Bulls, 5-4, at Fifth Third Field. Mettler was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Brian Henderson earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. His record is now 1-2. The Mud Hens saw their win-loss record go to 33-24. At the same time, the Bulls fell to 27-30.

Cachi Rodriguez drew 2 walk in 5 trips to the plate for Toledo. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Sam Rodríguez. It was his 31st walk of the season.
