Rochester Nets 6-5 Win Versus Grizzlies
|
Frontier Field was host to some intense drama.
The Rochester Norsemen knocked off the Maine Grizzlies, 6-5, in International League action at Frontier Field. Rochester pitcher and Orange City, Iowa, native Jeffrey Hammonds had an outstanding performance. Rochester reliever Freddie Schumaker, who is rated as the 94th best prospect by BNN, was credited with the win. His record goes to 2-0. Jon McNear took the loss for Maine.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Rochester trailing 5-4, Liberato Carrillo hit a cutter from Jon McNear to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Norsemen had a walk-off win.
"This house was rockin'," Carrillo said.
Rochester is now 26-31, Maine 23-34.
