Fontain Dominant in Tides Victory
|
Joseph Fontain never let Syracuse get something going. The Norfolk right-hander commanded his cutter in pitching the Tides to a 3-0 win. George Babcock recorded his 5th save for Norfolk. Norfolk's record now stands at 36-28, placing them second in the International League Southwest Division.
Fontain, the grizzled veteran, threw 7 quality innings, limiting the opposition to 3 hits and no runs. With the win, Fontain moves to 5-3 on the year with 50 strikeouts.
Fontain offered a curt "no comment" when asked to discuss the win after the game.
