Oddballs Handle Clippers, 6-4
|
Columbus right fielder Nikolas Williams had a good game, even if his team did not. The Clippers dropped a 6-4 decision to Ottawa at Ottawa Ballpark. Williams was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs. The winner was Ottawa reliever Reuben Olvera, now 11-0. The loser was Jim Kirchhoff. Their 43-21 record puts the Oddballs first in the International League Northeast Division.
The Oddballs got an important contribution from third baseman Augustin Urena, who in the bottom of the first punched a 1-2 changeup into right-center for a bases-clearing double. It was his 13th double of the season and put the Oddballs ahead, 3-2.
Urena told the Ottawa Herald: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
