Big Day for Cruz in 8-2 Bears Win
Newark second baseman Tino Cruz contributed significantly to his team's 8-2 win over the Pawtucket Red Sox. Cruz, who is tied for 10th in the IL in RBI with 36, went 4 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Bears. Adam Spellman sewed up the save, his 1st. Newark is now 31-31, while Pawtucket is 27-35.

With Newark leading 2-1 in the top of the seventh, Cruz hit a run-scoring single off Pawtucket hurler Chase Stewart. It was the 51st hit of the season for Cruz and put his team ahead, 3-1.

"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager Daniel Holcombe.
