Mud Hens Rally to Tally 7-3 Win
|
Toledo beat Birmingham on the strength of starting pitcher Steve Mullen's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 7-3. The win gives Toledo a season record of 32-31.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 26-year old shortstop Gebhard Bothe. Bothe had a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mud Hens ahead, 2-1. For the game, Bothe had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"A great game, a great day," said Bothe about the win. "I can't complain."
