The home team gave the crowd at Frontier Field something to cheer about.
Durham designated hitter D.J. Zimmerman had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-3, to Rochester at Frontier Field. Zimmerman was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Erinyo Zamarripa picked up the win, lifting his record to 8-1 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 0 in 6.2 innings, while yielding 3 runs.
Michael Dodson had a big 2-run home run for the Norsemen in the bottom of the third inning. With Rochester leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from Leland Stotts and swatted a home run to center. It was his 7th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Norsemen ahead, 3-0.
In postgame remarks, Dodson applauded his team's "toughness."
