Grizzlies Drop Barons, 3-2
|
The Maine Grizzlies topped the Wilkes-Barre Barons, 3-2, in International League action at Coca-Cola Park. The standout performance belonged to Maine pitcher and San Antonio, Texas, native Anthony Blackwell. Maine, at 32-40, sits in 7th place in the International League Northeast Division.
Maine needed the clutch hitting of Elias Douglas to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Grizzlies on top, 2-1. For the game, Douglas had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Blackwell told the Maine Observer.
