Oddballs Lose to Charlotte, 6-3
|
The Charlotte Knights earned a win at Ottawa Ballpark, knocking off the Ottawa Oddballs, 6-3. On the bump for Charlotte was left-hander Cameron Brooks. He had a starring role in the triumph. Charlotte reliever Richie Freitag picked up the win to move to 1-0. Alton Stockton suffered the loss. With the win, the Knights improved to 37-38.
Tae-Hun Kang went 1 for 2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch for Charlotte. The 26-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Alton Stockton. It was his 30th RBI of the season.
"We didn't play well enough to win," Ottawa skipper Jesus Rojas said.
