The Norfolk Tides defeated the Pawtucket Red Sox, 1-0, in International League action at McCoy Stadium. Norfolk pitcher Joseph Fontain had a standout performance. Norfolk currently is in second place in the International League Southwest Division at 42-33.
Fontain allowed no runs on 3 hits over 7.1 innings for the Tides. He walked 2 and struck out 6.
Fontain told the Norfolk Daily: "Don't care what other people think. Joseph knows who Joseph is."
