Pawtucket Rallies to 5-3 Win
|
The Wilkes-Barre Barons could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Brit Séguin into a win. Instead, the Pawtucket Red Sox prevailed, 5-3. Séguin threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Sammie Ortiz, now 3-7, was credited with the win in 0.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The last-place Red Sox now sit at 32-46.
Pawtucket used the hitting of Yuji Ikegami to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Red Sox on top, 4-3. For the game, Ikegami had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Ikegami told the Pawtucket Times. "But we take nothing for granted."
