Red Sox Take Down Norsemen, 2-0
|
In a well-pitched game between the Pawtucket Red Sox and the Rochester Norsemen, pitcher Rob Kauffman was superb. The Pawtucket left-hander helped his team win, 2-0. Nathan Brashear snagged the win in relief. In 1.2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits. He's now 3-2 on the season. Steven Minckler finished the game for Pawtucket and earned his 20th save.
Dominick Kolar drew 1 walk in 3 trips to the plate for Pawtucket. The 24-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Weston Barnett. It was his 4th RBI of the season.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Kolar. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The 6th-place Red Sox have won 4 in a row.
