The Wilkes-Barre Barons needed 11 innings to defeat the Durham Bulls, 11-2, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Wilkes-Barre shortstop Seth McGill had a superb performance. He was 4 for 5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The winner in relief was Bill Staggers. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The victory gives Wilkes-Barre a record of 47-38.

Wilkes-Barre used the timely hitting of Art Nehrkorn to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Barons on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
