Red Sox Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
|
The Syracuse Chiefs got a superb performance from pitcher Ethan Hylton. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Pawtucket. The Red Sox won the game, 4-3. Hylton threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win belongs to Nathan Brashear in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Wildman Mercado took the loss for Syracuse. The Red Sox, at 45-42, have now won 9 straight.
Delvis Torres was the walk-off hero for Pawtucket. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Red Sox shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
In postgame remarks, Red Sox manager Daniel Holcombe praised his team for their performance during their current winning streak. "Let the good times roll," he said.
