Bears Pick Up 4-2 Win Against Syracuse
|
Newark shortstop Marc Jones played a vital role in his team's 4-2 conquest of Syracuse. He went 2-2 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Newark. The 6th-place Bears lifted their record to 42-45.
With Newark leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Jones hit a run-scoring single off Syracuse hurler Konnor Jackson. It was the 62nd hit of the season for Jones and put his team ahead, 2-0.
Jones said afterward that "winning, obviously, is the main objective."
