Clippers Hang 4-3 Loss on Stripers
|
The Columbus Clippers scored a tight 4-3 win versus the Gwinnett Stripers at Huntington Park. Columbus pitcher Stuart Kawata held his own in the contest. Kawata, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Gwinnett, at 31-54, has lost 4 straight.
The Clippers got a big at-bat from catcher Timothy Cresenio. For the game, Cresenio was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Columbus a 2-0 lead.
