Bears Handled by Scranton, 6-1
|
Scranton Dundies starter Alvin Diego pitched effectively against the Newark Bears at Valiants Ballpark. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 6-1 win. Scranton is now 50-40, while Newark is 29-61.
Rob Bell, the 30-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Bell contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put Scranton up, 3-0.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Diego told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
