Dundies Rip Ottawa, 12-1
|
The Scranton Dundies soundly defeated the Ottawa Oddballs, 12-1, at PNC Field. Jesús Patino let his bat do the talking. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 7 runs and scored twice for Scranton. Scranton reliever Rob Foyil was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Rick Krencik. Scranton is 6th in the International League Northeast Division with a record of 48-46.
Patino contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Scranton in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Patino took a splitter from Rick Krencik and stroked the home run to left. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Dundies to leap in front, 4-1.
Ottawa manager Jorge Castillo called the blowout loss "a real dud."
