The Wilkes-Barre Barons rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher Tucker Day to a win, beating the Rochester Norsemen, 5-2, at Coca-Cola Park. Day, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up no walks. Picking up the save was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Silviano Díaz.

River White helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-1, Barons.

"Tucker did a heck of a job," said Wilkes-Barre manager Hector Vidal.
