Chiefs Stay Hot, Beat Bears, 5-4

The Syracuse Chiefs turned back the Newark Bears, 5-4, at Valiants Ballpark. Raymond Foxley, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The winning pitcher was 24-year old right-handed pitcher James Jeong. He tossed 88 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. Adrian Tabak recorded the save, his 7th.
Foxley had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch fastball from Logan Isaacs, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Chiefs a 5-2 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Foxley.
"Right now, things are falling our way," said Syracuse manager Abe Blowers.
The winning continues for Syracuse, with the latest triumph making it 7 straight.
