Wilkes-Barre and Gwinnett duked it out and the Barons came out victorious.

The Wilkes-Barre Barons defeated the Gwinnett Stripers, 9-6, at Coolray Field. Leading the charge for Wilkes-Barre was right fielder Tom Wiley. He was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Ethan Henderson notched his 17th save in 18 chances.

Early in the game, shortstop Evan Fletcher had a 2-run home run for Wilkes-Barre. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Barons on top, 2-0.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Fletcher told the Wilkes-Barre Today.

The Barons improved to 48-65.
