Aces Defeated, 8-3
|
The inspired effort of Alexandria designated hitter Fulgencio Sierra was not enough to prevent a loss, 8-3, to the Tennessee Smokies. Sierra went 2-2 with a home run and a walk. The winner was Alec Young in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Romeo Kimble took the loss. The Smokies improved their record to 42-52 with the win over Alexandria.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Elijah Hofstad? The Tennessee left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Smokies on top, 3-0. For the game, Hofstad had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Hofstad told the Tennessee Bulletin.
