|
The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp got a good effort from starter Declan Carpenter in defeating the Corpus Christi Hooks at Whataburger Field. The final score was 5-0. Mitch Ritter closed it out for his 1st save. The 'W' lifts Jacksonville's record to 74-24.
Wilson Corchado, the 26-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Corchado contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Jacksonville up, 1-0.
"Every good pitch to hit is a strike," said Corchado. "But not every strike is a good pitch to hit."
