The Midland RockHounds locked up a win at Security Bank Ballpark, knocking off the Mississippi Braves, 4-2. On the mound for Midland was right-hander Eli Castell. He played a major role in the triumph. Castell picked up the win for Midland, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-8. Picking up the save was fireballing left-hander Tristan Ott.

K.J. Rice had a big 2-run home run for the RockHounds in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Midland leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Stephen McGeary and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the RockHounds on top, 3-0.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Mississippi manager Sandy Estrada.
