Chattanooga right fielder Trey Carrington had a 3-RBI game, which proved instrumental to his team beating the Corpus Christi Hooks, 7-6. Carrington picked up 2 singles and 1 double in the ballgame. Chattanooga reliever Ángel Luna got the win, raising his record to 4-1. P.J. Erickson was tagged with the loss.

Chattanooga took a 7-6 lead on Theodore Ware's 17th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Ware hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Corpus Christi pitcher P.J. Erickson visibly frustrated.

Ware said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."

The defeat makes Corpus Christi 67-33.
