Marcelin 4-for-5 in Engineers Win
Good production from left fielder Diego Marcelin helped the Shreveport Engineers topple the Mississippi Braves, 13-4. Marcelin went 4 for 5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Engineers. Rich Gayle picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 10-2. By defeating Mississippi, the first-place Engineers improved to 72-29.

Shreveport right fielder Rob Jarvis contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a sinker to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 103rd hit of the season and put the Engineers ahead, 4-2.

"Hitting, winning. It's just contagious," said Jarvis.
