Bears Pull Out Late-Game Win, 6-5
In a tight contest at Ottawa Ballpark, the Newark Bears edged the Ottawa Oddballs by the score of 6-5. Newark left fielder Caleb Stroupe, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Newark pitcher Adam Spellman got the win. He's now 4-9. Isaac Miles was tagged with the loss. The last-place Bears improved to 46-70.

Ermengol Abrego drew 1 walk for Newark. The 27-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Lee Prados. It was his 52nd RBI of the season.

"Our guys refused to lose," said Stroupe.
