Red Sox Hand Barons 6-1 Loss
|
The umbrellas came out during the Pawtucket-Wilkes-Barre contest at Coca-Cola Park.
The Pawtucket Red Sox topped the Wilkes-Barre Barons, 6-1, in International League action at Coca-Cola Park. The standout performance belonged to Pawtucket pitcher and Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, native Rupert Nava. The Red Sox are now 59-61, while the Barons fall to 52-68.
It could have been a different outcome for Pawtucket, had it not been for J P. Díaz, the 30-year old shortstop . Díaz contributed a bases-clearing triple in the top of the second inning to put Pawtucket up, 4-0.
"I was hoping to make good contact," said Díaz. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."
